Brendan Murtagh BA (Hons), MSc, PhD, MRTPI, MIPI, ILTM

Background

Dr. Murtagh is a Chartered Town Planner and previously worked in community planning and research in a number of private consultancies before joining the Housing Executive as a Senior Economist in 1989.  He was appointed as a Lecture in Housing at the University of Ulster in 1994 before joining The Queen’s University of Belfast as a Reader in 2000.

 

Teaching

 

Dr Murtaghs teaching includes research methods, community planning, introduction to spatial planning and planning practice at both postgraduate and undergraduate levels.

 

Administration

 

Dr Murtagh is module coordinator of 4 courses on the postgraduate and undergraduate courses is responsible for the ISEP website and sits on the Universities Research Ethics Committee.  He also sits on the EU LEADER + Programme Monitoring Committee for Northern Ireland.
